Some people meet their soulmate and know in a heartbeat. For other people, it can take a bit longer to be certain. When Travis & Colleen met on a dating site in September of 2012, Colleen wasn't sure he would be The One. After all, he spelled her name wrong THREE times in their first conversations over text. And when he came to pick her up for their first date, he was driving a truly embarrassing old, orange Chevy Blazer (with big chrome rims). So she had some doubts! But even on that first date, Travis showed himself to be kind, funny, and thoughtful. Colleen's doubts started to fade away.

By New Year's Eve, Travis & Colleen had been dating for four months. Instead of attending wild parties, they spent the evening with Travis's family, and then settled in for a night of playing cards and talking. Looking at Travis across the table, cards in one hand and a drink in the other, Colleen knew. Every doubt was gone. This man — who brought her into his family and who made her feel so special and loved — this was the man she wanted to be with forever!

Colleen & Travis live in Michigan, so I was incredibly excited to get to spend time with them in Sedona for their engagement session. These two have so much fun together, and I can't wait to see them again next year for their wedding! Here are a few of my favorite images from their engagement shoot:
