When I imagine a "romantic meal," I often picture a fancy, candlelit restaurant. For Brian & Lauren, grilled cheese is a meal with more romance than any high-class restaurant can possibly offer! Grilled cheese was Lauren's favorite meal growing up, and it continues to be one of her favorite foods. Brian pays attention, so he definitely kept that in mind when he invited Lauren on a “spontaneous relaxing date” in the middle of Lauren's busy season at work. He took her to Chrissy Field, a San Francisco park with a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge, for a picnic. In the park, he revealed a picnic spread that included many of Lauren's favorite things: eucalyptus candles, roses, Malbec, music, a little camping stove to make grilled cheese ... and a ring.
I loved being invited into Brian & Lauren's home for this charming, lifestyle engagement shoot! Their space is full of personality and life, from the bold artwork that Brian painted himself to Lauren's beloved ukulele and guitar to their adorable dog, Indy. And, of course, grilled cheese sandwiches. :)
