On Saturday, my team and I walked for the TENTH year in a row to raise money and awareness for autism. This year we had a record number of people turn out at 7am to walk for our team aptly named -- WE LOVE NOAH AND ELIJAH -- 102 people!!! Crazy! Thank you SO much to everyone who came out to walk and to those of you who donated from afar. I appreciate each and every one of your efforts!!
I can't believe we have been doing this for 10 years now. We raised OVER $9,000 THIS YEAR -- $9,540 to be exact -- and the most of any team, earning us top-line mention on the back of the Zoowalk t-shirts.
As I was putting together this blog post recap with photos from this year's walk, I pulled up the folder from our very first walk for autism when my nephews Noah and Elijah were 4 and 6 years old. This isn't a very good photo, but I wanted to share it for comparison purposes. This is me with cute little Noah and Elijah in 2007:

And this is them at ages 14 and 16 with their parents -- my sister Natalie and brother-in-law Josh:
Crazy! Both boys have autism and both have benefited, along with countless others, from the research that we have have raised money over the years to support.
Thank you to each and every one of you who donated and helped us to do something great in the fight to find answers for the 1 in now 45 children affected by autism!!! The proceeds we raised will go toward the local ASU research program. The ASU research program is doing some exciting studies that are revealing practical treatments that are being implemented to change childrens' lives NOW.
If you didn't get a chance to participate this year -- it's not too late! The overall fundraising goal for the event is about $50,000 short, so funds are still desperately needed. You can still donate online here! And plan ahead to join us next year! It's always on the 1st Saturday in October.
Here are some photos from walk day! As always, I was running back and forth trying to take photos of different people along the walk course and at the same time, connect with so many friends that I love. So due to an over-abundance of chatting, I didn't take as many photos as I should have, but at least we have a few to document this fun event!
