It's Miss Dixie-dog's birthday!! This sweet creature that God blessed me with is 9 years old!!! Crazy! I love this pup more than words can express -- she brings so much joy to my life every day.
This year I carried on what has become a yearly tradition and threw a birthday party (aka a glorified doggie playdate) for her in my backyard. Because we've done this for the past 6 years now, she knows the drill -- "I just have to put up with these birthday hats and photos and I get cake out of it." haha!
We had food of both the human and pup variety, family photos, and lots of butt sniffing. It was PURE CHAOS this year with 12 dogs, 5 kids and 15 adults. We even had a few dog fights break out and my mom's leg was mistaken for a fire hydrant at one point...IF you know what I mean. But overall fun was had by all! Thank you to all of Dixie's friends who came out and made her birthday so special!

Dixie knew RIGHT where the pup-cakes were and kept her eye on them the whole time:
