Frivolous: playful, lighthearted, trivial; the little things in life that should be savored.
Highlight of the week: I spent the week in New York photographing an engagement shoot, a portrait session, and taking in the city. I was fortunate to be able to stay with Jessica and Dave whose wedding I photographed nearly 5 years ago AND who were the subjects of my very first engagement shoot in New York City. Since then, Jessica has become a wedding photographer herself, as well as a dear friend. I had so much fun hanging with her and Dave and exploring Manhattan with them!
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Ate dairy-free tomato soup twice while it was raining outside
2 -- Rode the New York subway for the first time
3 -- Got punched in the face by a giant umbrella
Celebrating: Tomorrow I get to shoot my last wedding of what has been an amazing season! Can't wait to finish strong!
There were so many things I loved about my time in New York, but seeing Finding Neverland on Broadway was a definite highlight. It's up there with the best productions I've ever seen. It tells the story behind the writing of Peter Pan and stars Matthew Morrison (from Glee) and Amy Yakima (winner of SYTYCD season 10). There were also stand-out performances from 4 little boys who are crazy-talented. I pretty much smiled through the entire thing.
Feeling Blessed: To top off this amazing week, I also got to experience fall the way it's supposed to be done. In Phoenix, we have very few trees that change colors, and it's pretty much summer until Halloween, so being surrounded by all of the fall colors in New York was such a treat! I can't wait to get my film scans back to share all of the prettiness with you!
