When I asked Joseph and Elizabeth to share their favorite things about one another, "sense of humor" was on both of their lists. That's perfect, because their love story is full of quirky, hilarious moments.
It started on the night they met. It was Fleet Week, and NYC was awash with sailors in their Summer Whites, one of whom spotted (in his words) "a wild-eyed beauty in a black dress." Joe knew he and Liz had a connection as soon as they made eye contact. So far, that's a pretty dramatic moment ... until you hear what song they were dancing to. 'MMMbop,' by Hanson -- haha! It was the perfect soundtrack for such a fun couple!
Years later, when Joe proposed, it was at dinner with Liz's entire family in attendance. He went down on one knee and waited for his answer. Then he had to wait a little longer, because Liz's mouth was glued shut by the great big bite of cheesecake she had just taken! She had to swallow before she could give her answer. Luckily, it was YES, and the two had yet another story to laugh over.
Joe and Liz have so much love and joy in their hearts! I'm so glad to have been a part of their beautiful wedding day!
