One of the things that inspires me is color. As you may have noticed from the way I decorate my home - I'm not your basic neutrals kind of gal. Color inspires my decorating, my wardrobe and my photography. Don't get me wrong - I still love a classic black and white image. But I've noticed over the years the number of images that I turn to black and white has decreased. If I love the color in an image, I can't bear to turn it black and white.

As I've been playing around on Pinterest over the last couple weeks, I've stumbled upon one of my new favorite things - color palette websites. I know these are nothing new - they've been around for years - but they're new to me and I think they're brilliant. There are probably a ton out there but my three favorites are Color Collective, Design Seeds, and the color categories on Design Sponge.

There are so many things you can use these sites for:

-inspiration for creating your branding
-ideas for the color scheme of your wedding
-paint and decor color combinations

And I'm sure there are many more - I'd love to hear your ideas in the comments!

You can't nail me down on a favorite color but here are some of my favorite current palettes taken from the sites listed above:

I love the combination of teal and citrine:
Teal, light blue and coral - a popular color this spring:
I think these girls make me love this color combo all the more:
Ahh...chartreuse, dark blue/gray and light blue/gray:
Love this but I also want the kelly green from the photo thrown into the palette:
Mustard and burnt orange make for a great autumn palette:
More chartreuse!
I love how all of these palettes were inspired from photographs. The brilliant thing is that you can extract a palette from any photo. If you love the feel of a photo, why not hang it in your home and use it to inspire the palette for the room in which it resides?

Just for fun, I took one of my favorite photos - one whose color's intrigue me - and used the eye dropper tool in Photoshop to extract a palette from it. So fun! I kind of love what I came up with:
What color combos are you loving? What else would you use these color palette inspirations for?
