Tonight I headed down the road a few miles to see my friends David Jay and Jasmine Star talk to a large group of Phoenix photographers about creating freedom and branding your business. These two, along with their crew, are touring the country for two months inspiring and helping other photographers. They are two of the nicest people you'll meet and are amazing at what they do. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it until last minute and didn't bring my real camera along but I got a couple of amazingly well-lit (note the sarcasm) photos with my iphone:
It was fun to reconnect with these two as well as some great local photographers. And I met some new friends as well. The evening didn't disappoint. Even though I've heard David speak like a gazillion times, I'm never bored and I always come away inspired. He has such a knack for thinking big-picture and I tend to get caught up in the practicalities and details of photography and business. It's so refreshing to take a break and re-focus.

At the end of the night I got a look at the famed tour bus that is taking this crew around the nation. I've seen photos of it on their website and blogs but I was a little skeptical that it actually existed and wasn't just a product of computer wizardry. But I touched and saw it for myself. A huge bus with a huge photo of David Jay on the side. Jasmine is on there too I just couldn't fit her in the photo--sorry Jasmine! It's just that David's mug takes up the whole thing.
I wish there was more light inside--I would have taken some photos to show you how decked out it is--pretty amazing. What a life. Must be fun living like a rock star for two months :).

So, for those of you who are photographers in or around any of these cities: San Diego, LA, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Denver, Kansas City, Chicago, Indianapolis, New York, Boston, Washington DC, Charlotte, Charleston, Orlando, Atlanta or Nashville--definitely try to attend when the tour comes to you. It's well worth your time. Click here to find out dates and locations!
