Frivolous: playful, lighthearted, trivial; the little things in life that should be savored.
Highlight of the week: So you know that time when you're shooting a wedding and your assistant comes up to you and shows you a photo of the flower girl that you JUST PHOTOGRAPHED on Martha Stewart Wedding's instagram feed? Yep. Just happened to me when I was photographing Jay & Jessica's wedding this past weekend. So after freaking out a little, I commented on the instagram, knowing full well that Martha Stewart herself wasn't in attendance and, having no idea who was instagraming for her, but still wanting to meet them. And moments later Megan, who does all the social media for Martha Stewart Weddings and is a college friend of the bride's, came up and introduced herself while I was getting ready to shoot the grand entrance! What are the odds that Martha Stewart's social media person would be at the same wedding I'm shooting AND that I would see the Instagram WHILE shooting it!? A marvel of the internet social media age. So ya, that was my surreal highlight of the week this week.
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Had to tell my dog to stop licking the computer.
2 -- Ate a huge bowl of asparagus in one sitting because I didn't want it to go bad.
3 -- Spent most of this week wishing I could take a nap.
Celebrating: The January MJ2Day is officially sold out and has a waiting list three people long! Crazy! So excited to meet this great group in a few months! There are still openings for the June workshop near LA, and it is sure to sell-out early, so make sure to sign up soon!
With all the craziness of the last few weeks, it was SO nice to fit in some quality time with a couple dear friends this week. You know when you spend an evening having truly life-giving conversation? What a blessing during a time when I can easily begin to feel like a shell of a person who just works. Granted, it's fun work, and I'm not complaining, but it's nice to be reminded that I'm more than just a photographer sometimes.
Feeling Blessed: I'm in Napa for the first time and shooting a wedding here tonight and tomorrow! So excited to share the beauty with you next week!
