Highlight of the week: Lunch out with the local Align designers. Many of them met one another for the first time in person. It was super-fun and caused me to marvel at how God has blessed me by bringing so many amazing people into my life -- and specifically onto my team.
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Walked three dogs at once. Twice.
2 -- Slipped back in time and called a hashtag a "pound sign".
3 -- Saw 6 different fireworks shows in the span of a half hour.
It was freakin' over 105 degrees EVERY DAY this week in Phoenix. One day it got up to 118. INSANE. I've noticed that I lose weight every summer. But I think everyone in Phoenix does. It's all water weight. We're all walking around chronically dehydrated, shriveled up shadows of our winter-time selves.
Celebrating: Happy 4th of July everyone! This holiday is a little rough for me because my aunt committed suicide four years ago on the 4th. So unfortunately, this holiday will forever be a reminder to me that mental illness is very real and sometimes deadly. I miss my aunt, but life marches on, and fireworks are still a reminder that we have much to celebrate as a nation. I came upon this photo from when Dixie-dog was only 4-months-old, and it warmed my heart and brought a smile to my face.
How talented is the So You Think You Can Dance cast this season? I'm loving them all. My early favorites are Jasmine Harper, Amy Yakima (she reminds me of Melanie) and Tucker Knox. Thoughts? Predictions?
Counting My Blessings: I could have been born at any point in history, but I am living AFTER the invention of air conditioning.
