Last night we wrapped up the 5th MJ 2 Day! It was the first one held in my new home in Phoenix and 10 attendees came in from Texas, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Arizona. We had a great time getting to know each other and packed both days full of learning goodness!

Monday we covered topics ranging from shooting techniques, lighting, interacting with clients, posing and off-camera flash. Then we went out into the good light the hour before sunset so I could demonstrate how I interact with clients, find light, and use compositional elements in the context of a mock engagement shoot. Stephanie Fay and her husband Stephen - local photographers and good friends of mine - were our AMAZING models. We started in my back yard, shot in the alley behind my house, around my neighborhood and ended the shoot in one of my neighbor's back yards. I am in LOVE with how the photos turned out. Of course it helps when you have models like these guys:
Wherever there's a camera, Dixie feels like she needs to join in the fun:
Love this one:
A great tree and great light down the street from my house:
I have some amazing neighbors with an amazing backyard and they generously allowed all 14 of us to descend upon it.

I couldn't possibly love the feel of these more:
How cool is this swing?
Had to work this orange chair into the shoot:
These two are so adorable!
Thanks Steph and Stephen for being so amazing!

Stay tuned - tomorrow I'll share a recap of day 2 of the workshop and more about the fun attendees!
