Frivolous: playful, lighthearted, trivial; the little things in life that should be savored.
Highlight of the week: Giving up on a 5-day cleanse 1.5 days into it. I'm not much of a dieter and have never tried a cleanse. I just love food WAY. TOO. MUCH. But I gave The Master Cleanse a try. Epic fail. After 30-some hours of not chewing, I caved. And reuniting with food was my highlight of the week. Seriously people, we need to end world hunger because that is the worst feeling ever. I can't imagine living with it day in and day out.
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Baked 20 dozen cookies.
2 -- Consumed 2 dozen cookies.
3 -- Changed into my pjs and snuggled Dixie by a fire every chance I got.
I attended my friend Victoria's annual cookie swap party for the 4th year in row. It's become an official staple of my holiday season. I'm pretty sure it would cease to feel like Christmas without it. I would definitely be skinnier & less merry if she stopped inviting me. Click here to see some of the yummy goodness and find out how to host one of your own!
Celebrating: My sweet friend Marcus turned 30 this week and we celebrated with a surprise party thrown by his wife Gina in a penthouse suite in downtown Phoenix. It was fancy, fun, and reminded me again how blessed I am with amazing friends. (above photo of Gina, Marcus & Marcus's birthday pie curtesy of @thebloomer.)
I worked from my friends Amy & Jordan's house one day this week and Dixie came along as usual. Jordan shot this photo of Dixie "helping me work". She is so funny. Sometimes laying next to me isn't close enough -- she has to literally find a way to get in between me and the computer. Such a love.
Feeling Blessed: Christmas break officially starts tomorrow. That's what my boss says, anyway. And I'm going to finally start my Christmas shopping. That was my strategy all along -- I'm hoping everyone else is done so I can have the mall to myself.
