These cute cousins of mine were in town from Northern Minnesota for a visit this week. It was a great excuse to play hookie from work, eat out at my favorite restaurants, and play lots of Mexican Train. Also made thankful to live somewhere that's not currently under a pile of snow.
Highlight of the week: Watching eleven dogs eat birthday cake.
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Was grumpy for no good reason yesterday. Such a sad waste of time.
2 -- Turned to chocolate chip cookies in my above moment of weakness. I know, it's a short-term solution. But it was a good one.
Celebrating: Got to catch up with this sweet friend. It's been far too long and far too much has happened in the interim. I feel SO blessed to have such a loyal friend who shows me so much grace.
God is really working on me in the areas of my finances and purpose in life -- challenging me to live simply and give generously. There are so many better things to live for than the American ideal of accumulation. This book, this sermon and this video are a few of the ways God has been speaking to me on this lately. Feeling so challenged and excited about what the future holds!
