Berta's original email to me said, "Hi Melissa! I always said that I only get married the day that I found 'The photographer' and finally I found you. I want to get married next year. Tell me what dates you are available. Best regards. P.S: I'm from Angola (west Africa). It's not a joke :)"
But of course, I thought it was a joke. A wedding in Africa!? No way! Despite my misgivings, I emailed Berta back and suggested we meet over Skype. We did, and to my surprise, she was real. And gorgeous. And from Africa. But I still didn't believe it. Then she booked me. And I still didn't believe it. Then I got on a plane last week and landed in Africa. And even though I felt like I was in a dream, I started to believe it a little bit.
Yesterday I photographed Berta and Christian's wedding in Angola, Africa. They are real, totally in love and had an over-the-top amazing wedding that I still can't believe I got the chance to be a part of. I'll be on three planes for the next 30 hours traveling home, so I won't be able to blog more photos for awhile, but I wanted to share these with you as a promise of the fun to come. Stay tuned!
