GAHHH!!! Today is such an exciting day!! Melissa Jill Photography has gotten a serious facelift with all new branding and a new website! Honestly, I struggled with my decision on whether or not to rebrand. Since I've been in business now for 11 years, my brand is pretty established. I wondered if it was wise to mess with a logo that has become recognizable and to change things up at this point in my career. Not to mention the exorbitant expense of rebranding not only a website, but all of the physical and printed collateral that I've accrued over the years. Yep, I thought long and hard about this one. But in the end, I decided to go for it. I've changed and grown over the years, and I want my brand to reflect me. I was ready for a change and wanted something new and fresh that would reflect how I'm feeling on the inside -- refreshed and re-inspired. I'm SO thankful I took the leap, because I LOVE the outcome. And I hope you do too.
I honestly would not have had the courage to tackle this overhaul without my dream team: Promise Tangeman and the GoLive Team, and Brock Martin with Infinet Design. I've worked with both of these geniuses for years and I can not sing their praises loud enough. Promise and the GoLive Team did my rebrand and designed a completely custom website layout. And Brock programmed the site, making their design come alive.
At the end of June, I went to California for a quick 2-day trip to crank out the new branding in person with Promise and Meg, one of her GoLive Team members. We sat around Promise's kitchen table and dreamed up a new concept that just felt right. By the end of the two days, the majority of the site was designed.

Meg did all of the hand-lettering on my site that I ADORE.
Parker tried to be helpful but apparently he's not used to the long hours.
I'm so thankful to Promise and her team. Working with people who already knew me and "got" my brand made the process so much easier.
Brock with Infinet Design has the patience of a saint and he is SO brilliant. I've worked with Infinet Design since 2007 and they have the best customer service of any company I've ever worked with. I just can't recommend them highly enough. Brock took the custom design and programmed not one site, but two full sites. Since the website is responsive, the design re-arranges for mobile devices. If you're on a computer, you can make your browser window more narrow and see the design change to fit. Pretty amazing! I also love that he was able to make our vision for the navigation of the site a reality. You can click through the main pages of the site with the arrows on either side of the header images and then use the sub navigation buttons in the header (or old fashioned scrolling) to navigate to the subpages of the site. And when you're scrolling vertically, the top navigation sticks with you so you can easily get to the info you're looking for.
One last thank you goes to Jeremy Chou for the About page header image. I needed new photos of me and I'm so thankful that he was available to capture that for me!
Click here to check out the site starting with the home page! The rest of this post is screenshots of the site in case anyone is interested in pinning Promise and Brock's amazing work! I would love to hear what you think in the comments below! I hope you love it as much as I do!
