My dear friend Jen Thye -- who is also the fabulous wedding consultant behind Imoni Events -- is pregnant with her first child. This little girl has been long awaited for and prayed for and is a cherished gift from God. I'm so excited for Jen! She is going to be such a great mom!
Now you know when a wedding planner has a party it's sure to be amazing! It was so fun to see many of my industry friends there--many of whom helped out to bring together all the fabulous details for the shower. The yellow and white theme was so fresh and happy. M is for Madelyn!:
Jen was gorgeous and stylish as always. She received some amazingly thoughtful and personal gifts including a little Madeleine baking sheet--so creative!
No shower is complete without silly games. Each of us had a little "baby" frozen in a cup of ice and we had to guess what time it would be "born." I discovered that estimating the rate at which ice melts is NOT one of my talents.
Jen is such a sweet person and is SO loved which was highly apparent from all the great friends she had in attendance. It was so fun to be a part of this celebration with her and to see her absolutely beaming with joy:
Can't wait to meet you in a few short month Madelyn!!
Yesterday I went to my friend Kim Jarman's baby shower. Kim is a fabulous fellow photographer and this shower was thrown for all of her wedding industry pals--mostly other photographers and coordinators. It was outdoors at The Farm at South Mountain just in time before the Phoenix heat becomes unbearable. It was a gorgeous day and I had so much fun connecting with good friends who I don't see often enough.
I brought my camera along and took a couple shots to share with you. This is my good friend Michelle Meyer and her adorable son Tate. You may recognize them from my blog--they've made numerousappearancesin the past. Tate was looking super-handsome yesterday:
And the guest of honor--Kim. Kim is a great friend of mine and I'm so excited for her--she's expecting her first child in July--a girl! There were so many super-sweet girly gifts she opened:
And then came my gift. Not so much on the super-sweet side of the spectrum, but more on the dose-of-reality side:
I saw this onesie in a Portland specialty store and just had to get it for Kim. I think she may truly feel a little more like she looks in photo #1 about it, so we'll see if it actually ever gets worn. :)
Today I had the pleasure of shooting a beautiful baby shower full of gorgeous details--always a photographer's dream :). All the credit for every detail of this shower goes to Lynn Maestas with Party in Bloom. Her site is still in the works but definitely bookmark it if you have a party in your future.
The baby shower was thrown by the residents of Esplanade Place Condominiums for one of their own in the building's clubhouse. These were the amazing invitations that Lynn designed, created and sent out to the guests complete with a silver baby-toy-block style box:
And here is Natalie, the guest of honor and mom-to-be looking radiant and thrilled with the results:
The fun and bright table settings:
Each napkin was wrapped like a diaper:
I loved the little ornaments that hung off the back of the chairs:
The bright-colored drinks the guests were served upon arrival:
Lynn even took care to decorate the ceiling:
Great work Lynn! What a fabulous party in preparation for baby Max's debut!
