|68. Go to Serrano's with Shannon at least once a month between now and Aug.
When I was first writing my 101 in 1001 list my friend Shannon suggested this one be included. We already had a long-lived tradition of going to Serrano's--one of THE best Mexican restaurants in town--any chance we had, so I have to admit that this one wasn't very tough. But I put it on there to appease Shannon. And I knew I would have to hold her to it no matter how busy she got with all the changes in her life. Shannon is getting married next Saturday and moving to Chicago so I'm very sad--we've been friends since she was in Jr. High and I in high school. We have many great memories together--I taught her everything I know about badminton and she went on to the state championships (I take full credit of course; and YES badminton is a real sport), we lived together for one year in a cute little bright yellow apartment. I've been through her parents' divorce with her, she's been through my dad's near sudden death with me (even sleeping at the hospital numerous nights) and on and on I could go. So I'm a little sore at Greg for taking her away but he's a lovable guy, so not too sore.
Today was our last Serrano's run for awhile. Good memories. I'm going to have to find a new Serrano's friend now. The requirements are that you must love mixing the salsa with bean dip and you must be willing to go last minute--respecting any sudden cravings with deep gravity. I'm now accepting applications.
As you can see above, we got the waitress to take our photo at each of our runs February through August. You many notice that there is no dress code--no need to look your best--and waitresses are generally awful at taking photos. I think we threw them off.
Thanks for the fun times Shan! Rest assured I will miss you desperately each time I get a craving :).
