It was a case of opposites attract.

Ann and Dave first met at a Suns game in March of 2008.

Her first impression of him: Obnoxious. Dave says whatever he thinks without filtering.

Ann is in HR. Filtering IS her job. His first impression of her: She was in HR. HR means trouble. He was sure to let her know exactly how he felt about it. He did however think she was cute; and she had to admit that, though he was a bit of a wild card, he was funny, smart, and very attractive.

Though the arena was packed with screaming fans - for the entire evening she felt as though they were the only two there. When the game ended, they said their goodbyes and Ann found herself shocked and disappointed when he didn't ask for her number. Two months later they ran into each other in Rocky Point, Mexico. She was celebrating her approaching 30th birthday and he asked her to dance. Though she doesn't care to dance much, she agreed.

They've been together ever since.

Friday was Dave and Ann's wedding day. It was a day filled with fun, surprises and celebration.

I love the beginning of a wedding day when the girls are hanging out and getting ready. There is so much anticipation in the air!
The gorgeous dress:
Ann got teary-eyed when she received this hand made card from Dave:
A sweet mother-daughter moment:
Ann made an absolutely stunning bride:
Ann and Dave saw each other before the ceremony and I love these emotion-filled shots we got from their first look:
Dave had a little surprise to share with Ann. He had ordered some custom shoes for he and his groomsmen to wear on the wedding day complete with their nicknames on the heels. She was surprised but took it in stride:
The gorgeous bouquet.
The bridal party:
The ring bearers did a good job being cute:
Sassi has such a beautiful outdoor venue for ceremonies:
Love this:
Moments after the ceremony:
And a few more portraits this time as husband and wife!
Some of the sparkly reception details:
The first dance was very sweet:
And I love these moments from the toasts:
I got the chance to shoot something I've never shot before - the bride TP-ing a friend's car at the reception. Ann grabbed me and took me out to the parking lot with two of her friends from high school. I guess they have a tradition of TP-ing their other friend's car. It was hilarious and I love this image I got:
It was so fun to see my past clients Stephanie and Graham at the wedding! Stephanie and Ann used to work together and so Stephanie gets the credit for referring me to Dave and Ann. These two were married two and a half years ago and now have a little boy! I adore them and it was so great to see them again!
Dave and Ann had a photo booth at their reception and since it was my birthday, I got in it with my 2nd photographer and assistant - Rachel and Lizzie. As you can see, we had a bit-o-fun:
Thanks for such a great day Ann & Dave! It was an honor to photograph your wedding!!
