Phew.
I just got home from a whirlwind week out in New Orleans at Pictage's annual Partner Conference. It was so much fun seeing old friends and making new ones as well. I didn't even take my camera out until I was done speaking on Tuesday so I didn't get as many photos as I would have liked, but wanted to share some of the cool people I got the chance to hang with for the week.
These are the Edmonsons -- a father/son team based out of Dallas who I absolutely adore. They were part of my team that went to Tanzania in July so it was so much fun to reconnect with them and hang out a bit. |
We also got to hook up with Mike Colon who was part of the Africa Team as well:
These two were two of my roomies for the week. Rhonda Danner (L) and Erin O'Neil (R) are both new photographers out of South Carolina. Rhonda is a dear friend of mine since back in 1999 when we met on a mission trip to Thailand. You may recognize her from the numerous times she's been on my blog. I shot her wedding a few years ago and then she shot Erin's wedding in May. It was so fun to have a friend from my non-photography past enter into this world for a week with me and it was fun to get to know Erin as well.
Ben Finch introduced himself to me the first night of the trip and we became fast friends. Ben is based in Tennessee and is just an all-around great guy. I loved hanging with him all week.
As I mentioned in my last post, I enjoyed the many speakers I was able to hear throughout the week at the conference. One of them is a dear friend of mine and fellow Phoenician -- Jared Platt. We met for the very first time 5 years ago at our first Pictage Conference. So it was fun to be a speaker alongside him and hang out throughout the week.
Jared has a natural talent for teaching and was a huge hit at the conference. Here he is in action:
So much fun! I'm bummed I didn't get photos with more of the people I got to hang with. But thank you all for a great week and I can't wait until next year! Pictage announced that the 2010 conference will also be held in New Orleans. So if you are a photographer -- mark your calendars now!
