I never imagined I would become a photographer. Growing up I always enjoyed taking snapshots and documenting important events. After a summer spent traveling Europe after college, my grandmother looked at my photo album and proclaimed, "You really should become a photographer!" I didn't take her seriously, though. I had no idea how someone even went about it. When I got engaged, I spent hours pouring over photographers' websites in Victoria, BC, where we were having a destination wedding. After all, having excellent photos of my big day was my top priority. I knew that after the celebration ended, when we had returned home and unpacked our suitcases, our photos would be the only lasting thing that we could look at and treasure.
I took some photography classes just for fun, and met the fabulous Melissa Jill. She allowed me to second shoot with her on a wedding, and from that day on I was hooked. That was in 2004 and I have been shooting weddings ever since. I still believe that all of the beautiful details and priceless moments inherent in each wedding make for a magical experience that I am honored to be a part of.
